I'm a graphic designer out of the University of Colorado Boulder, where I studied Strategic Communication with a specialization in design. I've always liked that graphic design is both an art form and something real. It has to function out in the world, not just look good on a screen.
Event design sort of found me. What hooked me was watching my work come to life almost every week. You walk into a room and something you designed is standing there, and other people are seeing it too. That immediacy is what makes the event world so fun.
Before Lively Productions, I interned as a graphic designer at Xuma Communications, a Denver based ad agency, where I got my first real taste of working inside a studio.
Today I work full-time as the sole graphic designer for Lively Productions, a Denver based event design company. Over the past year I've designed graphics, environments and interactive pieces for more than 70 events across Colorado, from large corporate activations down to small celebrations. That covers the whole pipeline: concept design and brand systems, fabrication-ready files, print production, and installing it on site.
